ANGEL  TREE  2008

Needs your assistance.

Prior to setting up the trees with all the angel tags, there is work to be done to get to that point.

The applications have been received and volunteers are calling the caregivers, but ...

We need people who can (1) man the trees on Sundays, Nov. 30th and Dec. 7th, (2)  help sort and bag the gifts, and (3) deliver the gifts prior to Christmas.

Please let  Chair Janet  Casini (or the office) know if you can help with any of these jobs.

Each step along the way is sooooo important.

TALBOT HOUSE

CHILI DINNER

NEWS

Last Tuesday was Veteran's Day, so we asked all veterans at Talbot House to stand before the blessing.  About 20 older guys stood and everyone applauded them.

As we were serving, one man said that this was the best Veteran's Day he had ever had. Being of Vietnam War vintage, probably no one had ever thanked him for his service to his country. It was very moving!

Thanks to our cookers, servers and bread bakers:

Bobby Rabon, Jean & Bill Warneke, Dave Dutcher,

Bob Callendar, Barbara Yeaple, Tom Rittenour, Terry Ottinger,

Movita Wheatley, Donna & Keith Totten, Shirley & Nelson Rumpel,

Ken & Judy Horne, Marlene Dillinger, Fran Morris,

John & Carol Starling, Gus & Al Frost, Alicia Weber, and Vic Herm.

The following dates have been assigned to us this year:

Mon., Dec. 8, 10-6

Tues., Dec. 9, 10-8

Fri., Dec. 12, 10-8

If you have never done Bell Ringing, please consider it.

It's a wonderful way to get into the Spirit of Christmas!

In the economic and employment downturn we have some folks who are really in need of employment- part-time or full time. If you learn of any jobs– please call the church office or Fr. Scott that we may pass along the leads to those in need– especially at this time:

Employment Wanted:

Full Time Building Maintenance Supervisor

Janitorial position

Class A CDL driver

Forklift diver

Administrative Assistance

Personal Assistant

Human Resources Coordinator

Customer Service

Often at this time of the year, many people plan and prioritize their end-of-the-year contributions to church and various charities. We are tracking close to budget at this time of the year  with the expectation that December will be a normally “heavy” month in terms of special gifts to the Church. We would love to have the re-roofing of the Church project underway and would encourage any special gifts that you may be considering to be designated for that purpose. MANY THANKS FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION OF THIS MATTER– sth+
